Warriors' Draymond Green weighs in on potential Stephen Curry return

Stephen Curry has missed 25 straight games for the Golden State Warriors. The veteran guard is dealing with a persistent knee injury. Yet, as we approach the final run of games, there’s still hope that he will be cleared for an on-court return, which should give him some ramp-up time ahead of the play-in tournament.

In a recent episode of “The Draymond Green Show” podcast, Draymond Green shared his thoughts on Curry’s current situation and whether we will see him back in the rotation before the end of the current season.

“What I will tell you is, I don’t think Steph is getting shut down for the season,” Green said. “I do know that Steph is doing all that he can to get back. I do know that he’s progressing well on the court. And I do know that he’s very, very eager to get back out there. And what I can assure is whether it’s 1 regular season game, or 5 regular season games. Steph wants to play. And he’s going to do all that he can, he’s been doing all that he can and things are really looking up.”

Getting Curry back will undoubtedly boost the Warriors’ chances of successfully navigating a difficult play-in tournament run. His gravity, scoring and facilitation are all key parts of Steve Kerr’s offensive game plan. Of course, Golden State will have to weigh the risk of reinjury against the benefits he can provide on the court.

Right now, Curry is still working his way through the rehab process. Once he’s cleared and back on the court, the Warriors’ medical staff will have a clearer picture. Nevertheless, Warriors’ fans will undoubtedly be counting down the days until their star player is back to doing what he does best.
