MMA April Fool’s Day 2026: Arman Tsarukyan breaks UFC White House ‘news’ and more

It’s April Fool’s Day once again and you know what that means: Time to watch out for fake news!

This is especially true in the world of combat sports, where some of your favorite fighters just can’t help but get up to all kinds of mischief whether it be a “HUGE FIGHT ANNOUNCEMENT,” a shocking retirement, or just the usual pranks and gags that guys and gals get up to when they have way too much time on their hands between fights.

Case in point, the calendar barely flipped to April first when No. 1 lightweight contender and grappling enthusiast Arman Tsarukyan took to Instagram to announce that his long-awaited grudge match with Ilia Topuria is on for the main event of UFC White House with Justin Gaethje out of the June 14 lineup.

“I guess it’s my lucky day,” Tsarukyan wrote. “Get well soon, Justin.”
