Reports from multiple outlets in Italy claim that Claudio Ranieri is expected to leave his role with Roma following a public spat with head coach Gian Piero Gasperini that has caused a divide among the Giallorossi camp.
Ranieri to leave Roma by tomorrow
Tensions between the two senior Roma figures boiled over earlier this month when Ranieri gave an interview claiming that Gasperini was not even amongst the club’s top three candidates when they sought to appoint a new head coach at the end of last season.
Gasperini has often criticised the club’s recruitment of new players and the club’s medical staff, which Ranieri also hit back at during his interview with DAZN ahead of Roma’s recent Serie A match against Pisa.
This war of words came as confirmation of the ongoing divide within the Roma senior management. There had been reports last week that Ranieri and Gasperini were ‘ignoring’ each other at the club’s training ground following the interview that Ranieri gave.

The situation has quickly become untenable, and reports in Italy have claimed that either the head coach or the senior advisor is likely to leave the club at the end of the season as a result.
Now, according to reports from multiple outlets including La Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport, the decision has been taken for Ranieri to leave his position as senior advisor.
La Gazzetta dello Sport hints that an official announcement from Roma could arrive imminently, while Corriere dello Sport reports that Ranieri has ‘already left’ and that the decision will be confirmed in a press conference on Friday.
