<p>The 25-year-old has a hard time struggling with fitness and weight problems in the Hinrunde, before undergoing surgery in December.</p>
<p>Boniface was presumed to resume action ahead of next season, but his rehabilitation from the knee surgery went well, and he could return to action before the end of the season.</p>

<h2 class=”wp-block-heading”>Puertas hopeful for Boniface Werder Bremen return</h2>
<p>Puertas joined Daniel Thioune’s side on loan from Al Qadsiah last summer, but only found the back of the net for the first time in the Nodderby against Hamburg last weekend.</p>
<p>Speaking after the win, the Spanish midfielder was delighted to have found the back of the net, but also wished Boniface was on the sidelines to have celebrated the moment with him.</p>
