The first trade of the 2026 NFL Draft happened six picks in and involved the Kansas City Chiefs, who made good on the swarming trade rumors all week and moved up three spots to take LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane.

Here are the details of the trade:

Cleveland Browns receive: Pick No. 9, No. 74 and No. 148

Chiefs receive: Pick No. 6

Kansas City goes from nine total picks in this year’s draft to seven after sending away the team’s third-round pick and the highest of three fifth-round selections.

It is the third time general manager Brett Veach has traded up since 2022; he made a slight move to take wide receiver Xavier Worthy in 2024 and made a more significant jump to get cornerback Trent McDuffie in 2022.

Here are the Chiefs’ remaining picks after the trade:

  • Round 1, Pick 29 (from Los Angeles Rams)
  • Round 2, Pick 40
  • Round 4, Pick 109
  • Round 5, Pick 169 (from Rams)
  • Round 5, Pick 176 (Compensatory Selection)
  • Round 6, Pick 210 (from Rams)
