The 2026 NFL Draft is here, and the 32 teams are welcoming another rookie crop that can shake up the league. The draft also means finalizing past trades that included future draft picks. A big one was the August 2025 trade that sent Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers.
Let’s check in on how the two sides are doing now that a big chunk of the move has been finalized.
Original terms of the Micah Parsons trade
- Green Bay Packers receive: Micah Parsons
- Dallas Cowboys receive: Kenny Clark, 2026 first-round pick, 2027 first-round pick
How was Micah Parsons’ performance for the Packers in 2025?
After the stunning trade before the start of the season, Parsons wasted no time making his impact felt with the Packers. He recorded a sack in his debut against the Detroit Lions and also picked up one on Dak Prescott when the Packers played the Cowboys in Week 4.
In total, Parsons recorded 12.5 sacks in 14 games with the Packers, but he tore his ACL in December, cutting his season a bit short. His status for the start of 2026 is up in the air, but Green Bay signed him to a massive four-year deal, and the Packers are playing the long game.
What did the Cowboys do with the pick from the Micah Parsons trade?
The Cowboys’ pick from the Packers ended up at No. 20 overall. They will also have the No. 12 overall pick.
At No. 20, the Cowboys traded the pick with the Eagles and moved down to 23 overall and also received the 114th and 137th overall picks. The Cowboys selected UCF EDGE Malachi Lawrence at 23. We will update when those picks are made.
The 2027 first-round pick was moved by Dallas as part of the Quinnen Williams trade with the New York Jets. The Jets will receive the higher selection between the Packers and Cowboys in the first round of next year’s draft.
Williams had 21 tackles and 1.5 sacks in seven games with the Cowboys this season.
How was Kenny Clark’s performance for the Cowboys in 2025?
Kenny Clark started all 17 games for the Cowboys, recording three sacks and 36 total tackles in another solid outing for the former Packers’ first-round pick.
