“I personally believe the middle and lower middle order got the opportunity to bat in a pressure situation at the right time in the tournament, as it is important for everyone to perform in crunch situations,” Jadeja said.
“It’s good that everyone has had the chance to score runs and contribute. Sometimes, players at numbers 5, 6, 7 and 8 don’t get enough batting and, in important matches, struggle due to lack of exposure,” he said.
Jadeja also spoke about the tactical call of a left-arm spinner bowling to a left-handed batter, saying conditions played a key role in that decision.
“It’s not easy for a left-arm spinner to bowl to a left-handed batter — it’s definitely not straightforward. But sometimes conditions help. If the pitch is offering spin or the ball is holding a bit, those factors become very important,” he said.
“From a batter’s perspective, if the ball is gripping and turning, you won’t try to attack every delivery. Similarly, when I’m bowling to a left-hander and the ball is gripping, it creates a win-win situation for the bowler.”
