Kyrah Daniels reversed course and decided to stay at Wisconsin, withdrawing from the NCAA transfer portal after entering it on April 14. The guard’s return delivered an immediate sign of buy-in for second-year coach Robin Pingeton as the Badgers try to turn late-season momentum into a full rebuild year over year.
Daniels arrived in Madison last offseason after Pingeton took over and quickly became a fixture in the rotation. The rising senior started all 34 games for Wisconsin in the 2025-26 season and gave the Badgers a steady, two-way presence on the perimeter. She averaged 30.3 minutes, 12.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, production Wisconsin could not afford to replace quietly in the portal.
Her decision also landed differently because of how Wisconsin’s season finished. The Badgers stumbled into March on a nine-game losing streak to close the regular season and exited early in the Big Ten Tournament, then flipped the script with a surprising run to the WBIT semifinals. Wisconsin beat Oregon State, Miami, and Harvard during that postseason push, showing the kind of resilience Pingeton has tried to instill since arriving.

With more talent coming in and the roster trend line pointing up, the Badgers are presenting a clearer path to winning than they did when Daniels first entered the portal, an upgrade in supporting pieces that likely helped pull her back.
