Friday night, Bronny James got more minutes than in previous games of the Los Angeles Lakers‘ NBA playoff series versus the Houston Rockets. Bronny played nine minutes. That opened the door for Bronny and his dad, LeBron James, to share the first father-to-son assist in NBA playoff history. It has been a season in which the Hall of Fame dad and his NBA son have made history together.
It was a special moment to witness. Bronny scored his first playoff points in his career on a pull-up 3 after catching a good look from his dad. Following that, he caught another assist from LeBron and scored a layup.
Bronny has not been asked to do too much in this playoff series, but he made every one of his 9 minutes count in the huge win over Houston in overtime. Bronny was 2-2 and finished the game with 5 points, but it was just another example of him being a viable rotation option for the Lakers.
The Lakers have been able to stay fresh, and Marcus Smart has been able to lay it all on the court for another game, just with Bronny being able to come in and provide 9 productive minutes for the Lakers. Bronny may not see the court too much in the next series for the Lakers vs the OKC Thunder, but nonetheless, his first-ever postseason has been historic.
