LT Overton has been selected by the Dallas Cowboys at the back end of the 4th round. Overton was originally a top-ten recruit that went to Texas A&M and bounced around positions. After transferring to Alabama for the 2024 season, Overton moved permanently to the defensive end spot and could move inside on passing downs for rushing the passer.
While the stats never quite matched his impact, Overton was highly disruptive in 2024, with many thinking he could be a 2nd round pick. His senior season was quieter, so he definitely dropped down the rankings a bit.
For their part, the Cowboys are getting a guy who can be a good rotational piece and versatile guy that can play all over the line of scrimmage.
