11 best undrafted free agents after the 2026 NFL Draft led by Logan Fano, Diego Pounds

Just because the 2026 NFL Draft is complete doesn’t mean teams are done loading up on rookie talent. Scouts and general managers get no respite after Mr. Irrelevant is selected with the 257th overall pick. Hundreds of free agents now get to decide where to spend their training camps as franchises jockey for position with big signing bonuses and promises of modest opportunity.

Players like John Randle, Kurt Warner and Antonio Gates didn’t let their draft snubs keep them from Hall of Fame careers. While that’s an extreme example, these unwanted rookies can play a major role on championship teams. Rashid Shaheed helped push the Seattle Seahawks‘ offense and special teams to Super Bowl levels. The team they beat, the New England Patriots, had an undrafted linebacker corps of Robert Spillane, Christian Elliss and Jack Gibbens holding court in the middle of the field.

While most of the players signed in the wake of the draft will have a minimal impact, some will rise above their station to be major contributors. Here are the 11 players most likely to thrive.

EDGE Logan Fano, Utah

Tenacious edge rusher with decent size but major injury concerns following him to the NFL.

QB Diego Pavia, Vanderbilt

Heisman runner-up, author of the greatest season in Commodores modern history and all-around lunatic (complimentary. Also, derogatory).

RB J’Mari Taylor, Virginia

Solid all-around back who is a step slow but adds value as both a receiver and blocker.

TE John Michael Gyllenborg, Wyoming

Athletic, wide-bodied tight end with iffy hands and a waning passing game impact in 2025.

EDGE Mason Reiger, Wisconsin

High effort, physical pass rusher who can win with his first step or with power but may not translate against NFL blocking.

OT Diego Pounds, Ole Miss

Beefy edge protector and accurate sentence. He’s got NFL size, but mobility and quickness concerns dragged him off draft boards.

RB Roman Hemby, Indiana

Well-built, reliable runner with one-cut-and-go bonafides but a modest impact through the air with the Hoosiers.

EDGE Nadame Tucker, Western Michigan

Productive MAC pass rusher who is a bit of a one-note player but can fill a valuable need in the NFL (14.5 sacks in 2025 after hardly playing at Houston).

OT Isaiah World, Oregon

High upside blocker who once had early round draft hype but tore an ACL late in a just-OK 2025 and may not play in 2026.

TE Michael Trigg, Baylor

Vertical threat and mismatch up the seam with questions to answer about his effort and commitment to the game.

RB Le’Veon Moss, Texas A&M

Talented back who never made the leap. He can be counted on for hard-charging runs but almost no impact in the passing game.
