Mason Arnold’s football journey is heading to Western New York.
The former Florida State long snapper has received a training camp invite from the Buffalo Bills, first reported by Khol’s snapping camp, giving the Tampa native an opportunity to compete for a roster spot with one of the AFC’s perennial contenders.
Arnold capped his collegiate career at Florida State by earning the Don Powell Award and Special Teams MVP honors in 2025, the program’s highest special teams recognition. Arnold served as Florida State’s long snapper in all 12 games during the 2025 and 2024 seasons. In 2024, he was the crucial third piece of the special teams trio alongside punter Alex Mastromanno, a consensus All-American, and kicker Ryan Fitzgerald, who was perfect on all 13 field goals and 14 extra points and was also named a First-Team All-American.
Arnold was named FSU’s Special Teams Newcomer of the Year and earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors for his work in the classroom in 2024 before returning for his redshirt senior campaign in 2025. His academic excellence continued as well, Arnold earned All-ACC Academic Team recognition in 2025.
The Bills’ interest comes as no surprise to those who tracked Arnold throughout the pre-draft process. Arnold was rated the No. 6 long snapper nationally in the high school class of 2021 by Kornblue Kicking and was a two-time Mannelly Award watch list honoree during his collegiate career, the award presented annually to the nation’s top long snapper.
Long snappers rarely generate headlines, but their value to an NFL roster is undeniable — a bad snap in a critical moment can swing the outcome of a game. Arnold arrives in Buffalo having operated at the highest level of college football for two full seasons, giving the Bills a prospect with legitimate reliability and the pedigree to compete for a roster spot when training camp opens this summer.
