Renegade drew the No. 1 post position but is still the 4-1 morning-line favorite for the 152nd Kentucky Derby.
Only three other horses in the 20-horse field have single-digit odds: Commandment (6-1) at the No. 6 post; Further Ado (6-1) at the No. 17 post; and Chief Wallabee (8-1) at the No. 12 post.
Sovereignty won last year’s Kentucky Derby at 7-1 odds on a sloppy track. Trained by Bill Mott, Sovereignty won in 2:02.31. Journalism, the race favorite, placed and Baeza showed.
The Derby will take place Saturday at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, with a post time of 6:57 p.m. ET.
