Bayern Munich’s insane 5-4 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League was one of the wildest, most up-and-down contests that fans have seen in a long time — and it was only the first leg.

The teams will meet up again next Wednesday for the match that will determine who moves on to the final. Both teams likely feel as if they have a good chance, but for the Bavarians, the home crowd will be a factor.

Just ask midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović.

“A defeat is never good. We would have deserved at least a draw, if not even a win. But we can build on our performance in the return leg and make it happen at home with our fans,” Pavlović said (as captured by Sky Germany journalist Kerry Hau).

To get to that point and come all the way back, Bayern Munich is going to have to improve its efficiency and decision-making in the final third. Slowing down PSG will difficult and stopping that machine completely is likely impossible. However, Bayern Munich has a destructive attack of its own and the Bavarians know it will take a relentless effort to move on to the finale.

Do they have that kind of effort in them? Surely, the amped up home crowd next week will believe they do.
