Atlético Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has provided an update on the wellbeing of star striker Julián Alvarez.
This comes after the Argentine was forced into a premature departure from the club’s most recent outing.
Atlético were of course back in action on Wednesday night, locking horns with Premier League leaders Arsenal in a Champions League semi-final first-leg clash.
The aforementioned Alvarez featured from the off in the fixture, and netted the hosts’ only goal en route to a 1-1 draw.
Late in proceedings at the Metropolitano, though, the former Manchester City man pulled up with a fitness problem, before being quickly hauled off.
Speaking to the media post-match, Diego Simeone was therefore drawn on the situation of both Alvarez, and son Giuliano.
And Atléti’s headmaster went on to assure:
“Julián Alvarez will play on Tuesday against Arsenal and Giuliano will be available too. I know the players, I absolutely do not see them being out of a semi-final return leg.”
