Liverpool have a lot of changes coming their way in the summer transfer window.

Several members of their squad are already guaranteed to be leaving which means that yet another rebuild could be on the way.

Andy Robertson has already chosen to move on with Mohamed Salah also looking for pastures new over the next couple of months.

And, even though many fans may already think that this is enough change, the transfers are clearly not going to stop there, especially after the latest news to emerge from L4.

Alisson is now ‘close’ to joining Juventus as asking price is named

The future of Alisson has hung heavy over the heads of Liverpool’s fanbase for some time now.

Even though the Brazilian has just send a year-long extension, it feels like he could still end up exiting Anfield this summer.

Juventus have been the time most interested in acquiring his services with a fresh report from Italian journalist Michele De Blasis claiming that he’s now ‘close’ to an agreement with the Old Lady.

“Confirm all the figures between Juventus and Alisson, now close to the final agreement,” he wrote via his personal X account.

“Then the negotiation with Liverpool FC will start, who are asking for 15 million [euros].”

Liverpool must sign a replacement for Alisson before letting him go

Even though many people within Liverpool may see Giorgi Mamardashvili as Alisson‘s successor, from the games that he’s played this term, it’s clear that he’s nowhere near ready to be the Reds’ first-team ‘keeper.

There have been times when the Georgian has put on an impressive performances but, more often than not, his form has been far worse than Alisson’s.

Alisson is still one of the world’s best goalkeepers and €15 million (£12.9 million) feels awfully low for a player of his quality.

If Coaimhin Kelleher was still around, the Irishman would easily be able to fill the boots of Alisson but, since Mamardashvili hasn’t quite got to that level yet, it’s unclear whether he’d actually be a solid replacement or not.

Should Liverpool move Alisson on, they must ensure that they have a replacement lined up that they can sign, otherwise, they’ll end up even worse off than they currently find themselves.

Mamardashvili may reach his potential in the future but for now, it feels like he’s not ready to become the main man, even though that’s likely to be how Arne Slot sees him.
