NFL analyst ‘blown away’ by Commanders’ 2026 NFL Draft haul

How does the “NFL Stock Exchange” rate the Washington Commanders‘ top three picks in the 2026 NFL Draft?

Commanders fans will recall that Washington GM Adam Peters selected Ohio State LB Sonny Styles at No. 7, Clemson WR Antonio Williams at No. 71, and Tennessee edge rusher Joshua Josephs at No. 147.

Trevor Sikkema and Connor Rogers shared their commentary on the Commanders’ draft, and it is a safe bet the Washington fan base will enjoy what Sikkema and Rogers had to say.

“Love this draft,” expressed Rogers. “I am blown away at what they were able to do with that much capital. Obviously, the Laremy Tunsil trade had an impact on the amount of capital you have to spend. You get Styles (Sonny) at No. 7, what they middle of their defense needs. They spent a lot of money to get younger and faster on this defense. You then add Sonny Styles to it, it’s gonna get Dan Quinn’s unit back to what it needs to be.”

Sikkema was just as high in his praise for the job that Peters did in drafting last week. “The Commanders didn’t have a lot of picks in this draft. I love that he made it to there (7) and I love that they pulled the trigger on Sonny Styles. I love that they didn’t get too cute with it.”

Rogers transitioned, “Antonio Williams is going to fit in perfectly with Jayden Daniels. He’s a quick area separator from the slot He’s dangerous with the ball in his hands. He is reliable in terms of catching the ball and finishing plays. Jayden Daniels is going to love him.” Sikkema agreed, stating Williams will be a good underneath receiver, very complementary for what they already have on the roster.

Joshua Josephs? “Love the first step as a pass rusher. He will be DPR (Designated Pass Rusher) in this scheme. Somebody that just consistently had high pressure rates because of his athleticism.” Sikkema feels Josephs has a lot of talent and hasn’t put it all together yet. He said he felt Josephs had third-round talent and the Commanders were able to get him in the fifth round.

Sikkema, like most of us, felt the Commanders would trade down because they didn’t have picks in the second or fourth rounds. “Well, you didn’t trade down to acquire picks, but you certainly got plus value out of your other picks which really helped supplement the fact that you didn’t have a lot of picks.”

Though the Commanders first three selections came in rounds 1, 3, and 5, they certainly impressed both Sikkema and Rogers with the selections they made.
