As widely reported, Bayern Munich are looking into the possibility of bringing Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon to Germany this summer.
According to recent reports, Gordon’s agents recently met with Bayern officials as the German champions look to advance talks on the player’s side.
While there is optimism that an agreement on personal terms can be reached, the main sticking point is likely to be the transfer fee.
As Bild head of football Christian Falk reports, Bayern are unlikely to meet Newcastle’s reported price tag of around €92 million.
A fee of around €70 million would be more manageable for Bayern, especially if the deal is structured with payments spread over time.
However, if Newcastle stick to their valuation and/or demand the full fee upfront, the deal would be difficult for Bayern to complete, potentially forcing them to move on to other targets.
