Zack Short is returning to the Detroit Tigers organization.
Tigers made a minor-league trade Friday to acquire Short, and infielder, from the Washington Nationals for a cash consideration or a player to be named.
Short will report to Triple-A Toledo.
Short, 30, played for the Tigers from 2021-23, appearing in 177 games. He hit .266 with 13 home runs and 55 RBIs during his time in Detroit. He’s also played for the Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets and Houston Astros.
