The Blues face a critical summer, and are expected to be busy with reinforcements required in several areas of the squad.
Chelsea are thought to still be in for a centre back, whilst it’s believed they want to add another midfielder and attacker.
Jody Morris urges Chelsea to sign Bernardo Silva
Chelsea have been heavily criticised for their youth focused recruitment model, but it’s been reported they’re prepared to sign players with proven Premier League experience.
Co-owner Behdad Eghbali has said the model will be tweaked, but fans won’t believe him until they see action taken.
A lack of leadership and know how is evident within the Chelsea squad, and Morris believes the Blues should be making a move for Silva.
“But certainly bringing in people like Bernardo Silva would be good, his performance the other day was absolutely outstanding,” he said as quoted by Metro.
“That’s all we’ve seen for nine years at Manchester City: Someone who is not big in stature, you wouldn’t necessarily say he’s physically unbelievable apart from the distance he covers, but he plays with pure intelligence, is brave as you like, is a great character and he’s always available and turns up in big games.
“So would I look at Bernardo Silva? Absolutely.”
Silva has announced he’ll be leaving Manchester City on a free transfer at the end of the season, but he almost certainly won’t be playing his football at Chelsea next season.
