Wisconsin basketball learns top five, commitment date for Donovan Davis

Kaukauna native Donovan Davis has officially put the Wisconsin Badgers in his top five.

Davis, a 6-foot-7 power forward, currently plays for Freedom High School. Knowing how successful Luke Fickell has been at recruiting in-state players, it’s great to see Greg Gard follow suit.

There are no guarantees Davis will choose Wisconsin, far from it, especially since they’re matched up against Iowa, Nebraska, Iowa State, and Marquette.

Those choices leave the Badgers with just two options to not have to see him every year in Big Ten play. That said, Wisconsin has a yearly showdown with Marquette, meaning the Cyclones are their best bet should Davis not stay in Wisconsin for his collegiate career.

Rivals lists Davis as the No. 32 overall recruit in the Class of 2027 while 247Sports has him at No. 39. Either way, he’s clearly one of the best players in the class and is undoubtedly a top 10 power forward. If that’s not good enough, he’s the No. 2-ranked player in Wisconsin.

Not only did Davis reveal his top five, but he also told Rivals’ Joe Tipton that he would announce his commitment on Wednesday, May 6.
