Olympique de Marseille have three games with which to rescue their season and qualify for the UEFA Champions League. One win in their last five games has left them sixth in the table and four points off Lille OSC in fourth.
Gerónimo Rulli didn’t travel with the squad for their trip north to FC Nantes, meaning Jeffrey de Lange will likely start for the first time since the 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. Habib Beye will also be without Benjamin Pavard and Timothy Weah, who are suspended.
To mitigate the loss of these two suspended players, Beye will likely return to the back four with Balerdi acting as the right-sided centre-back and Tochukwu Nnadi moving from midfield into the right-back role. In attack, Mason Greenwood should return to the starting line-up after he was benched for last weekend’s 1-1 draw with OGC Nice.
