Tennessee tennis advances to second round after defeating Old Dominion

Tennessee women’s tennis (14-9, 8-7 SEC) is competing in its 33rd NCAA Tournament in program history.

On Friday, the Lady Vols opened play in the Durham Regional, hosted by Duke. Tennessee defeated Old Dominion, 4-2, in the first round at Ambler Tennis Stadium in Durham, North Carolina.

“We train to be able to make adjustments when we need to, and our girls did an incredible job of doing just that today,” Tennessee head coach Alison Ojeda said.

Tennessee advanced to the NCAA Tournament second round. The Lady Vols will face No. 15 seed Duke on Saturday. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. EDT. Duke defeated VCU, 4-0, in the first round.
