Shedeur Sanders added to his list of accomplishments. The Cleveland Browns quarterback graduated from the University of Colorado in a ceremony at Folsom Field on Saturday.
While the youngest son of Deion Sanders was excited to be back on campus, this was an exciting homecoming, knowing he had made his way across a finish line some professional athletes who leave school early don’t get to enjoy.
The former Colorado Buffaloes signal-caller was the ultimate multitasker, but as Coach Prime admitted last year, Shedeur never went to class and was missing out on the student experience.
“It’s so different now,” Sanders admitted on The Brett Boone podcast in 2024. “Most of the schooling is online. They go to classes and I’m like, ‘You guys are missing the best part of college to walk around and be on campus and build an atmosphere and build relationships on campus with other students outside of football. That’s the best part of it.”
“But now you have so many kids that are just online. I don’t even know if Shedeur has ever taken a class on campus in his college career.”

Shedeur took the online coursework route during his career at Colorado. This continued even after he was named the starting QB for the Browns last season.
Sanders had his jersey retired before he graduated from CU. He finished his career as one of the best in school history.

Sanders won the Johnny Unitas award as the top quarterback in college football in 2024. He was the unanimous choice for the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and named first-team All-Big 12 by all the publications that picked the team. Shedeur threw for 4,134 yards with 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions with an NFL QB rating of 117.0 and college passer rating of 165.9.
In two seasons at CU, Sanders completed 651-of-907 (71.8%) passes for 7,364 yards with 64 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. One of the most accomplished quarterbacks in college football history, he completed 1,267-of-1,808 (70.1%) for 14,353 yards with 134 touchdowns and 27 interceptions. He threw a touchdown in an NCAA Division I record 49 straight games and is only one of two D1 quarterbacks to throw for 14,000 yards and complete 70 percent of his career passes.
