From Memphis to Knoxville and beyond, the state of Tennessee has seen its fair share of sports legends over the last several decades. 

Legends of the past like Wilma Rudolph, Pat Summit and Reggie White paved the way for modern superstars like Brandon Miller and Jalen Ramsey.

What the athletes of the past and present all have in common is they all began their sports journey in one of the state’s several prominent high school programs. 

Which high schools in Tennessee are considered the best for athletes today? 

According to a study conducted by Niche, which accounts for survey feedback from students and parents—accounting for “reviews of athletics, number of state championships, student participation in athletics, and the number of sports offered at the school”—and data from the U.S. Department of Education, these are the top 25.
