Jason Cundy threatens to fight someone as he blasts embarrassing Chelsea players

Chelsea have left Jason Cundy a broken man, so much so that he even wants to fight someone.

The Sports Bar co-host and beloved Blues fan is only joking of course, but he couldn’t hide his misery after watching yet another defeat.

Chelsea sunk to a new low in their shambolic season as they lost 3-1 at home to a much-changed Nottingham Forest side on Monday.

Their only source of joy from the match came from a stunning bicycle kick by Joao Pedro, although he netted in the final minutes.

Defeat was their sixth in a row in the Premier League, a run that they last set in October and November 1993.

Former defender Cundy was in the stands at Stamford Bridge for the match, and later joined The Sports Bar for some post-match groans.

Cundy: End the season now

“You know what hurts? Forest were better than us all over the pitch,” he said, whilst Jamie O’Hara had a beaming smile alongside him.

“Ryan Yates, can I just say about him? Moises Caicedo, you! (Romeo) Lavia, you! Ryan Yates, best player on the pitch.

“I had to sit there and watch Ryan Yates, who can’t get in [the side]… also, Elliot Anderson, when he came off the bench… the levels that they had, in the second half as well.”

“I want to fight someone,” Cundy then jokingly said, before encapsulating the true meaning of ‘If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry’.

talkSPORT’s resident Chelsea fan also said: “The worst thing about that, I’m sat there and it’s almost like I’ve given up.

“I’m just sitting there doing the comms, thinking, ‘What’s playing out, is playing out’. Just end the season now.”

Cundy was a dejected man on The Sports Bar

Cundy also delivered a message to the squad and interim head coach Calum McFarlane for their lacklustre performances against Forest.

“Calum McFarlane has come in, and he’s set them up, and it’s all well and good playing in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley when the whole world is watching

“You’re on one of the biggest stages in world football. You want to turn up… a good Leeds side, but you want to put in a performance because it reflects well on you.

“Well, no hiding behind Liam Rosenior today. Calum McFarlane, don’t hide behind him. You lot got exposed today, and that is unacceptable.

“So you have a look at yourselves, I don’t care how much you’re earning, I don’t care how much you’re worth, that today was absolutely terrible.

“You’ve got to own, own it and wear it, and we’ve got Spurs coming up… right now, J, you’re rocking up at Stamford Bridge and beating us.”

What next for Chelsea?

Now sitting ninth in the Premier League, Chelsea return to action on Saturday with a trip to Liverpool, which will be live on talkSPORT.

They then face Manchester City in the FA Cup final a week later, their last hope of salvaging some sort of success for the season.

A London derby against Tottenham Hotspur follows three days after, and then it’s Sunderland away on the final day on May 24.

Chelsea are ten points behind Aston Villa in fifth, which means they are all but certain to miss out on Champions League qualification.

Europa League football can be won by lifting the FA Cup as well as finishing sixth, which is where Bournemouth currently sit.

Chelsea can also qualify for the Conference League play-off round by finishing seventh, although they are three points adrift as it stands.
