Jack Nicklaus is adding to his golf course empire with a new project in Palm Beach County.
NOKOSI is the first development from a newly formed group led by Gary Nicklaus and the Nicklaus family alongside TWG Global, signaling a new phase of club development for the family. The project will be on the site of the former Sherbrooke Golf & Country Club in suburban Lake Worth Beach. Sherbrooke closed in 2016.
NOKOSI is a private, multi-generational club that transforms the former club into a modern golf and wellness destination. Construction on the golf course has started and play is scheduled to start late 2026. Clubhouse and amenity construction is scheduled to begin in fall of 2026.
Nicklaus, 86, is taking extra pride in this project because of its proximity to his home. Jack and Barbara Nicklaus moved to Palm Beach County in 1966.
“NOKOSI is very personal to us because it is inspired and driven by our lifelong commitment to family,” Jack Nicklaus said. “It is about creating a place where families can come together around great golf, great friendships and a club culture built to last for generations.”
Nicklaus has designed more than 425 golf courses in more than 45 countries, including 40 in the U.S.

The project also marks a broader business milestone. NOKOSI is the first development from a newly formed group led by Gary Nicklaus and the Nicklaus family alongside TWG Global, a diversified holding company led by CEO Mark Walter. He has stakes in the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chelsea F.C., and a partnership with Cadillac for Formula 1 racing.
This signals a new phase of club development tied to the Nicklaus family’s long-term vision.
NOKOSI will operate as a strictly private club, with a limited membership, emphasizing family, quality of experience and long-term relationships.
“We’re building the kind of club where members don’t just come to play golf — they come to spend time, connect, and invest in their long-term lifestyle,” said Gary Nicklaus, who is overseeing operations and development. “Everything is being designed with the long-term member experience in mind.”
