That remains to be seen. But if it does, it won’t be taking place Sept. 19 at Sphere in Las Vegas. According to a recent announcement, legendary American rock band The Eagles will instead play the venue that day.
According to ESPN, representatives for Pacquiao, Mayweather, and Netflix have not responded to inquiries about the status of the event.
The rematch between the two all-time boxing legends was announced in February and came as a surprise to many. However, public disagreement between the two camps ensued as Mayweather claimed the fight, not professional.
Mayweather is scheduled for two exhibition bouts in the interim: one on June 27 against Greek kickboxer Mike Zambidis; the other vs. Mike Tyson on a date TBA.
