Bucs make unique offensive additions in 2027 NFL Mock Draft

The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Bucs still have their first-round pick, but a lot could happen in the next 12 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft in a class that many are saying could be one of generational wealth.

Pro Football Network’s Ian Cummings recently released the latest way-too-early 2027 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going offense twice in three rounds in his new mock draft. Leading things off in Round 1, he projects them to land Oregon tight end Jamari Johnson.

Cummings explains the Johnson pick, writing, “The Oregon Ducks had a first-round TE in the 2026 NFL Draft with Kenyon Sadiq, and there’s a chance they keep the streak alive with the next man up: Jamari Johnson. At 6’5″, 257 pounds, Johnson shows glimpses of freakish three-level athleticism with his gliding long speed and explosiveness, as well as his fluidity through breaks and transitions, and he has high-level body control and coordination at the catch point.”

What is interesting is the next offensive move he projects, which has them drafting Trinidad Chambliss. Some are thinking the Ole Miss quarterback could be a top pick candidate next year, but the overall reaction is interesting given the team’s quarterback situation.

It would put some pressure on Baker Mayfield if they give him another prove-it deal, and the door would be open for Chambliss if there was a struggle from their current starter.
