Will Golden Tempo run in the Belmont Stakes after 2026 Kentucky Derby win?

Horse racing fans got some tough news on Wednesday after history-makingtrainer Cherie DeVaux announced that 2026 Kentucky Derby winnerGolden Tempo won’t race at this month’s Preakness Stakes.

DeVaux understandably cited general maintenance for Golden Tempo’s health and well-being as the primary reason to pull him from the annual Triple Crown race. However, will he run at June’s Belmont Stakes in Elmont?

Depsite the Preakness decision, DeVaux didn’t rule out Belmont for Golden Tempo. In fact, the racing team is “pointing him toward the Belmont Stakes” right now. It sure sounds like Belmont is on the table right now.

While a lot can change in a month or so before Belmont, it’s very possible Golden Tempo races again in a Triple Crown competition very soon.

Maybe another big win is in Golden Tempo’s future?
