As expected, the Carolina Panthers had to crunch the numbers to accommodate their new batch of rookies.
According to Spotrac, the team has restructured the contract of cornerback Jaycee Horn—creating $13.1 million in salary cap space. Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer also reported on the adjustment this morning.
Carolina, per the report, has processed a salary conversion for the Pro Bowl defender’s 2026 pay. $16.4 million of Horn’s salary was moved into a signing bonus, putting his cap hit for this season at $10.9 million while tacking on a void year for 2030.
Here’s an updated look at Horn’s cap hits for the remainder of his contract:
- 2026: $10.9 million
- 2027: $25.9 million
- 2028: $31.8 million
- 2029: $33.9 million
- 2030 (free agent): $3.2 million
The new $13.1 million has helped the team sign their 2026 NFL Draft class and undrafted free agents, as they announced the official additions of 16 rookies on Thursday.
