The San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves split the first two games in San Antonio, and as the conference semifinals shifts to Minnesota, it’s still anyone’s series.
Each team’s superstar is putting on a show, and after 24 minutes, the score is tied 51-51 in Game 3 on Friday, May 8.
Victor Wembanyama scored 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field and 4-of-6 from the free throw line. He also pulled down nine rebounds and blocked two shots in 16 first half minutes for San Antonio.
Anthony Edwards has carried the T-Wolves with 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including two 3-pointers. Edwards was 3-of-4 from the free throw line and added two assists, while matching Wembanyama, with nine rebounds.
The Spurs as a team have shot 19% from distance, while Minnesota shot 30%. The Wolves outrebounded San Antonio in the first half, 33-26. It’s been the Spurs who have dominated the inside leading, 28-18, in points in the paint.
The Spurs held a 15-point lead but the Timberwolves climbed their way back in it. The winner of Game 3 could be determined in 24 minutes, but it’s on pace for more.
