Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2027 football signing class.
Four-star defensive end James Pace III named Tennessee in his top five schools, along with South Carolina, Auburn, Georgia and Maryland, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound prospect is from DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 14 defensive end in the class and No. 3 player in Maryland.
Tennessee offered Pace III a scholarship on Feb. 24, 2025. He has not visited the Vols.
Florida was the first school to offer Pace III a scholarship on April 26, 2023. Other schools to offer him scholarships include Penn State, Syracuse, USF, Florida State, Indiana, Alabama, Toledo, Delaware, Ohio, Miami, Pittsburgh, Oregon, Nebraska, Michigan, Ohio State, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, UMass and Old Dominion.
Tennessee has seven commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, defensive lineman Kadin Fife, quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, wide receiver KeSean Bowman and defensive back Carter Jamison.
