Arsenal Are In The Running For This Ligue 1 Striker: One For The Future?

In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Arsenal are in the running for Lille striker Matias Fernandez-Pardo. It has been mentioned that the Gunners would have to rival Atletico Madrid and Manchester City in the race to land the Spanish youngster this summer.

Fernandez-Pardo’s Impressive Rise In French Football

The 21-year-old has managed to impress with his performances as the focal point of Lille’s attack this season. Fernandez-Pardo has featured in 39 matches for the French club in this campaign, finding the back of the net eight times and securing seven assists in all competitions.

The Spanish prospect is currently among the most gifted young forwards in Ligue 1. Thus, it is no surprise that the Gunners are eyeing a move to bring him to the Emirates Stadium this off-season.

His current contract at Lille will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Arsenal to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Arsenal Are In The Running For Fernandez-Pardo: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Fernandez-Pardo can find a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Spanish youngster has already added a lot of goals and assists to his game. However, Fernandez-Pardo is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth at the highest level. Plus, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Gunners manage to win the race for his services.

We can expect Fernandez-Pardo to enhance the quality of Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s frontline in the long run. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Emirates Stadium next season.

At 21, Fernandez-Pardo has got the potential to be a future star in English football as long as he continues to improve with each year. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future. Thus, Arteta would be wise to go all out to get a deal done for the Spanish whizkid in this upcoming transfer period.
