His release clause is understood to have increased following Ipswich’s promotion from the Championship.

The Tractor Boys boss has led the club to three promotions in the last four years, including two to the top flight.

McKenna’s success in his five years in the Portman Road dugout has meant that plenty of interest has come his way.

He was linked with Bournemouth following the news that Andoni Iraola would be leaving at the end of the season.

But the Cherries appointed Marco Rose as their new boss instead, with the German taking over this summer.

McKenna still has interest from elsewhere though – and Crystal Palace and Fulham could be potential destinations.

Oliver Glasner is leaving Palace following the end of the campaign and they will need to find a new boss.

talkSPORT understands that departing Bournemouth manager Iraola is their number one target to take over.

However, McKenna is on their radar too, while Fulham may also be keen on making an approach should Marco Silva leave.

Silva’s contract at Craven Cottage expires this summer and he’s not yet signed a new one, leaving his future up in the air.

‘Already making plans’

Despite the interest in McKenna, Ipswich chairman Mark Ashton is confident that he will be staying at the club.

Ashton admitted when speaking to talkSPORT’s White and Jordan last week: “Success brings challenges.

“When we got promoted last time, there was a hell of a lot of noise around our manager and rightly so.

“We had back-to-back promotions, he’d done really well and he’s done really well again.

“I think success will always bring that noise, but we get on, we talk every day, we’re under no illusions that there’ll be noise around the manager, players, staff, executives.

“But we’re well set to take this club forward.”

When pressed on whether McKenna will be leading Ipswich into the Premier League next season, Ashton was strong in his answer.

“In my mind, yes [he’ll be staying],” he said. “I’ve got no reason to tell you anything different… we’re already starting to make plans.”
