Real Madrid lined-up in a rather predictable fashion given the absence of players such as Mbappé, Arda, Militão and Valverde. Trent, Jude, Gonzalo and Vinicius are the obvious creative outlets and goal threats, made for a rather unpredictable game for a team that has been poor for two consecutive seasons. Real Madrid have lost in El Clasico on many occasions but one can scarcely remember such a poor side lining up against their eternal rivals.
Barcelona went on to win La Liga back to back which is rather common since 2009 and Real Madrid in their beautiful all-white strip couldn’t even manage to catch the bouquet.
A rather horrendous showing from Real Madrid. An absolutely pathetic performance as calling it anaemic would not do it justice. The season ended in January with the sacking of Xabi Alonso and rest of it has been just seeing out the season by meeting the obligation to show up for matches and even that’s been a stretch.
It’s as you were.. I wrote the title of the DT before the match. I was rather confident it would fit regardless, given that the clasico outcome would change nothing about the season or the team descent into mediocrity.
I have very little food for thought. I am depleted as a fan this season. The club really went out of its way to ruin the next few years for us as fans. It’s no longer funny but purely depressing at this point. There’s very little to look forward to at the moment.
I must say however, that this is the nature of the club. We can debate the severity of the current circumstance compared to previous eras of mediocrity but the club is the old prince in the Machiavellian sense; it returns to rule. Defeat is always temporary.

The search for a Right-Winger who actually wants to play as a Right-Winger might be nearing its end. We can dream.. It costs nothing to dream. The youngster apparently impressed even the legendary Marcelo Vieira with his skill and technique.
The INDIVIDUALS
It is inescapable at this point that the club have handed over the team to bandits trading on the name of fantastic heritage and achievement. There is no longer pride, tradition and passion. Those have been replaced by instagram posts and social media messages to fans. There is no longer excellence. That has been replaced by status-seeking and self-obsession.
