Brewers’ social media erupts after Brice Turang’s Mother’s Day heroics

In 2006, former Brewers infielder Bill Hall had a rather rosy Mother’s Day when he used a pink bat to swat a walk-off home run to defeat the New York Mets in extra innings, 6-5, with his mom in the stands.

Twenty years later, Brice Turang stepped to the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning and with a bat dipped in a similar shade of bubble-gum lacquer and smacked David Bednar’s first pitch hanging curveball over the wall for a walk-off winner at American Family Field.

Pink is not usually considered the most intimidating of hues, but the Brewers now have a 37-22 record on Mother’s Day. Turang’s blast gave Brewers fans another most memorable one and a three game sweep over the New York Yankees for the first time since 1989 after Sunday’s 4-3 victory

Turang’s spring brightness wouldn’t have been possible withouout a three-run fourth inning highlighted by Blake Perkins’ two run single.

But most of the flowers belonged to Turang as his clutch swing brought out the brooms and turned back the calendar to Hall’s heroics.

Here’s some social media reaction to Turang’s fantastic finish:
