Barcelona continue to produce highly-rated young talents through La Masia, and goalkeeper Aron Yaakobishvili is becoming another name attracting attention both internationally and across Europe.

The young goalkeeper, currently spending the season on loan at Andorra, has now received another important boost in his development after being called up once again by the Hungary national football team senior squad.

It must be noted that Yaakobishvili was already included in Hungary’s squad during the March international break for friendly matches against Slovenia and Greece.

Although he did not make his senior debut on that occasion, the upcoming friendlies against Finland and Kazakhstan could finally offer him that opportunity before the Nations League campaign begins later this year.

Major achievement for the Barcelona player

For the young goalkeeper, it is another sign that his progress has not gone unnoticed despite spending the season away from Barcelona.

At Barcelona, though, they are also closely monitoring his development following what has largely been considered a positive loan spell at Andorra.

While the goalkeeper eventually lost his starting place during the final stretch of the campaign, his overall season remains encouraging.

Until matchday 26, Yaakobishvili had established himself as a regular starter and managed to put together a strong run of performances.

Despite that, the club now faces an important decision regarding his future.

Yaakobishvili remains under contract with Barcelona until 2028, but the growing competition in the goalkeeping department means the Catalan side might have to make a tough decision soon.

At the same time, interest from abroad is beginning to intensify. Reports in Italy suggest that Inter Milan are keeping a close eye on the Hungarian goalkeeper as they search for long-term options between the posts.

With Yann Sommer approaching the later years of his career, Inter are believed to be studying several younger goalkeepers capable of becoming future investments, and Yaakobishvili has caught their attention.
