Manuel Neuer set to sign new Bayern Munich contract

Manuel Neuer has reached a complete agreement to extend his contract at Bayern Munich until 2027, according to Sky Germany.

The 40-year-old, who earns a reported salary of up to €20m per year, will receive a reduced salary while Bayern’s No.2, Jonas Urbig, is also expected to receive more playing time than his 13 Bundesliga appearances in 2025/26.

After wrapping up his 13th Bundesliga title, Neuer equalled Thomas Müller’s haul while another season in Germany’s top flight could see him surpass Oliver Kahn in all-time appearances.

Could Manuel Neuer play at the World Cup?

Not only that, Neuer could yet feature for Germany at the 2026 FIFA World Cup despite retiring from international football in August 2024.

There are increasing discussions at the DFB that Bayern’s custodian could be named in Julian Nagelsmann’s 26-man squad for this summer’s tournament.
