Nebraska basketball officially signed a 6-foot-10, 245-pound center from the transfer portal on Monday. South Dakota State transfer Damon Wilkinson is now a Husker.
Wilkinson arrives in Lincoln, following three seasons at South Dakota State and his commitment to Nebraska back in April. He is one of two centers to join the Huskers from the portal, joining 6-foot-11, 255-pound Boston College transfer Boden Kapke.
Wilkinson played in all 32 games in 2025-26 for the Jackrabbits and averaged 13.9 points per game on 59 percent shooting. He also led South Dakota State in rebounds (6.4) and blocked shots per game (0.8). Wilkinson finished in the top across multiple categories within the Summit League, earning honorable-mention All-Summit League honors in 2026. He finished second in field goal percentage, fourth in rebounding, sixth in blocked shots and 10th in free throw percentage (.720).
The De Smet, South Dakota, native, in conference play, averaged 15.5 points on 59 percent shooting along with 6.9 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game. He scored double-digit points in 27 games. Wilkinson scored a career-high 24 points in two separate games, both against Omaha. In his first clash with the Mavericks, he also secured a career-high 19 rebounds for one of three double-doubles in 2025-26.
