The Columbus Fury announced on May 13 they are parting ways with coach Angel Perez.
Perez has guided the Fury for its three seasons, going 22-58. The 2026 season was the Fury’s worst, as they finished in last place in Major League Volleyball with a 5-23 record.
“The Columbus Fury sincerely thank Angel Perez for his service and dedication to the organization,” the team said in a statement. “Throughout his time with the club, Pérez helped guide the Fury both on and off the court while contributing to the continued growth of professional volleyball in Columbus. The organization wishes him success in the next chapter of his career.”
The Fury lost their final game of the regular season May 3, swept by the Atlanta Vibe in three sets at Nationwide Arena. The Fury had a 2-12 record at home.
