Total chaos ensued over the decision on the date and time for the Rome derby.
The two options are Sunday at 12:00 PM or Monday at 8:45 PM.
The first option was proposed by the Lega Serie A, while the second was proposed by the Rome Prefecture.
The final decision from the Regional Administrative Court (TAR) is pending.
The Biancocelesti lost the Coppa Italia final against Inter (0-2), and after the defeat, Sarri vented about the disorganization involved in scheduling the derby: “The feeling is that I’ll be there on Monday, but I won’t be there on Sunday at 12:30 PM: they’re playing at that time.”
Maurizio Sarri completely rejects the Lega Serie A’s proposal to play the derby at 12:00 on Sunday: “The mess stems from a series of errors made by the Lega, and no one has ever said sorry; we made a mistake. The Prefect was clear on Monday evening; let’s hope that’s the date. If I were president, I wouldn’t even present the team if we had to play at 12:30 on Sunday. Let’s take the -1, it won’t change anything for us.”
