The girls lacrosse season in Massachusetts is near halftime.Teams have an idea of where they stand for the postseason after several weeks of power rankings drops, and league title races are taking shape.
We’re taking stock of the season’s first half and introducing the candidates for the 2026 Daily News Fans Midseason Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year. They were selected from nominees for our Player of the Week polls.

Our player of the year stories are meant as a way to highlight local high school athletes in the area. Making the list is an achievement in itself. Congratulations to all our athletes.
