Giants 2026 schedule: Latest news, updates on game dates, primetime matchups

The NFL will release its regular season schedule Thursday night.

But plenty of information will trickle out before then.

So keep it right here for all the latest news, rumors and updates on the Giants’ 2026 schedule — game dates, times and TV details.

• Another primetime game: This one is Week 16 (Dec. 28) at the Lions on a Monday night.

• Giants’ first road game: It’ll be in Week 2 on a Monday night (Sept. 21) at the Rams.

• Where things stand: Here’s an updated look at the eight known games on the Giants schedule …

Week 1 (Sept. 13, Sunday night): vs. Cowboys, 8:20 p.m., NBC

Week 3 (Sept. 27): vs. Titans, 1 p.m., TBD

Week 4 (Oct. 4): vs. Cardinals, 1 p.m., TBD

Week 6 (Oct. 18): vs. Saints, 1 p.m., TBD

Week 10 (Nov. 12, Thursday night): vs. Commanders, 8:15 p.m., Amazon Prime

Week 11 (Nov. 22): vs. Jaguars, 1 p.m., TBD

Week 13 (Dec. 6): vs. 49ers, 1 p.m., TBD

Week 15 (Dec. 20): vs. Browns, 1 p.m., TBD

• Cleveland visits late in season: Browns at Giants will happen in Week 15 (Dec. 20) at 1 p.m.

• Jaguars-Giants set: The Giants’ home schedule continues to take shape. This matchup with Jacksonville is set for Week 11 (Nov. 22) at 1 p.m.

• Saints-Giants set: This one will happen in Week 6 (Oct. 18) at 1 p.m. at MetLife Stadium.

• This is when Brian Daboll returns: The ex-Giants coach is now the Titans’ offensive coordinator. He comes back to MetLife Stadium with his new team in Week 3 (Sept. 27) at 1 p.m. So the Giants are at home for their first, third and fourth games of the season. They’ll travel in Week 2.

• 49ers-Giants set: It’ll be in Week 13 (Dec. 6) at 1 p.m. in East Rutherford.

Here is what emerged Wednesday:

• Washington visits Giants in primetime: In Week 10, the Giants will host the Commanders on a Thursday night (Nov. 12). Another primetime showcase in John Harbaugh’s first season.

• Cardinals-Giants set: The Giants’ Week 4 game will be a 1 p.m. home matchup with Arizona on Oct. 4.

• No international game for Giants: They will travel to Detroit instead of being the Lions’ “road” opponent in Munich, as the Patriots got that Week 10 spot. The Giants have international marketing rights in Germany. They lost to the Panthers in Munich in 2024. But they won’t return this year.

The Lions and Patriots also have marketing rights in Germany (as do the Panthers). The Giants’ other international regular season games have all happened in London — in 2007, 2016 and 2022. The Giants were the designated road team in all four of those games.

Entering Wednesday, one Giants game was already known. In Week 1 — Harbaugh’s debut — they will host the Cowboys on Sunday night. That nationally televised Sept. 13 game on NBC will begin at 8:20.

The Giants and every other NFL team have known their home-and-road opponents since last season ended. This week is just about learning the order of those games — and when they will happen.

Other than the Cowboys, Commanders and Eagles, the Giants will face these teams at home in 2026: Cardinals, Browns, Jaguars, Saints, 49ers and Titans.

And other than those three NFC East opponents, the Giants will travel to play these teams: Lions, Texans, Colts, Rams and Seahawks.

In 2025, the Giants opened the season with a 21-6 loss at Washington. In 2024, they began with a 28-6 home loss to the Vikings. In 2023, the Giants got smoked 40-0 by the Cowboys at home in Week 1.

So Harbaugh will be trying to reverse the Giants’ recent terrible Week 1 fortunes when he squares off against Dak Prescott and Co. in this year’s lid-lifter — in front of what should be a raucous crowd in East Rutherford.

The Giants’ most recent Week 1 victory came in 2022, when they beat the Titans 21-20 in Nashville — coach Brian Daboll’s debut.

Will Daboll’s replacement, Harbaugh, also get a win in his Giants debut?

Cowboys-Giants in Week 1 this year marks the eighth time in a 15-season stretch that the teams have opened the season against each other.

The Giants closed their miserable 4-13 season in 2025 with a Week 18 home win over Dallas. Before that, they had lost nine straight games (and 16 of their previous of 17) to the Cowboys.

The Giants have dropped nine straight games in Dallas since their last win there in 2016 (when they swept the Cowboys). That’s their lone win in Dallas since 2012. The Giants are 1-12 in Dallas since then.
