BASEBALL
Kimberly 4, Appleton North 1
APPLETON – The Papermakers scored three runs in the seventh inning to break a 1-1 deadlock in their Fox Valley Association win over the Lightning.
The win improves Kimberly to 12-1 in conference play and 15-1 overall. Appleton North falls to 7-6 in the FVA and 11-7 overall.
Kimberly, which finished with eight hits, got two hits from Ryan Halfmann with Maddux Hermus driving in two runs.
Bryce Mischler pitched a complete game for Kimberly, allowing one run on six hits and one walk. He struck out six.
Aedan Waterstreet had two hits, including a double, and drove in Appleton North’s run. Owen Reuland also had two hits for Appleton North.
Isaak L’Esperance allowed three runs in the seventh inning and took the loss for Appleton North.
Colin Reddy pitched six innings for Appleton North and allowed one unearned run on five hits and two walks while striking out nine.
Neenah 4, Oshkosh West 0
OSHKOSH – Cal Juckem pitched a complete game to lead the Rockets to the Fox Valley Association win over the Wildcats.
Juckem allowed three hits, walked one and struck out 13 batters.
Neenah scored three runs in the first inning and one in the second inning.
Juckem, Mack Krause, Ethan Hellengreen and Levi Boivin had hits for Neenah. Boivin had a double and Krause had an RBI.
Kaukauna 19, Appleton West 2
APPLETON – The Ghosts scored seven runs in the second inning and 12 in the third in their win over the Terrors.
Kaukauna finished with 18 hits but also took advantage of six Appleton West errors.
Bron Schaefer and Brayden Jenkins each collected three hits for Kaukauna. Dylan Lotzer, Taron Seghers, Paxton Schuh and Bennett Geitner each collected multiple hits for Kaukauna.
Jenkins pitched the first four innings for Kaukauna and got the win.
Appleton West finished with four hits.
Fond du Lac 6, Hortonville 3
FOND DU LAC – The Cardinals scored four runs in the first inning and added two runs in the fifth inning in their win over the Polar Bears.
Hortonville scored its three runs in the sixth inning.
Xavier Enriquez had two doubles and drove in two runs for Hortonville.
Isaac Behnke started and took the loss for Hortonville, giving up six runs (three earned) on 10 hits over five innings.
Seymour 15, Menasha 8
MENASHA – The Thunder scored seven runs in the first three innings and seven more in the sixth and seventh innings to defeat the Bluejays, who committed eight errors.
Seymour got two hits from Nolan Beilfuss, Caden Steffens, Jordan Thompson and Xavier Salzman. Cayden Staffeldt drove in three runs. Beilfuss drove in two runs while Steffens scored four runs. Carson Staffeldt scored three runs.
Salzman pitched 2⅓ innings and got the win for Seymour.
Winneconne 4, Xavier 3
WINNECONNE – The Wolves scored twice in both the second and third innings and then held off a rally by the Hawks to get the win.
Noah Bouras had a pair of doubles for Winneconne.
Lucky Pahl pitched the first five innings, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out 13 to get the win. Aaron Zimmer pitched the final two innings to get the save.
Xavier finished with five hits.
St. Mary Catholic 6, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah 0
ELKHART LAKE – Jacob Ernsting pitched a two-hit shutout to lead the Zephyrs to the win over the Resorters.
Ernsting walked two and struck out 11 for St. Mary Catholic.
Caleb Vogel had a double for the Zephyrs, who scored single runs in both the third and fifth innings and four in the sixth to break open the game.
Brillion 7, New Holstein 5
BRILLION – The Lions sandwiched three-run innings in the third and fifth innings around one run in the fourth inning to defeat the Huskies.
Hayden Cousin had three hits and drove in two runs for Brillion. Heath Cousin and Kelvin Gilbertson also had two hits. Landon Mathes drove in two runs.
Chase Braun got the win for Brillion, going 4⅓ innings and allowing five runs (one earned).
Parker Ziebell took the loss for New Holstein.
Chilton 14, Sheboygan Falls 4
CHILTON – The Tigers scored twice in the first inning, three in the second and four in both the third and fourth innings to defeat the Falcons.
Chilton finished with eight hits with Ethan Schneider going 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Kale Wagner scored three times for Chilton.
Aidan Schmahl and Aaron Bronson both had two hits for Sheboygan Falls.
Ryan Schmitz started and got the win for Chilton.
Elliott Ries took the loss for Sheboygan Falls.
Reedsville 3, Hilbert 2
HILBERT – The Panthers took a 3-0 lead after three innings and then withstood a two-run rally by the Wolves in the seventh inning to get the win.
Drew Halbach and Cashtan Konen drove in Hilbert’s runs.
Spencer Karls took the loss for Hilbert.
Amherst 19, Manawa 3
MANAWA – The Falcons scored four runs in the first and second innings and nine in the third to defeat the Wolves.
Amherst, which had 21 hits, got four hits from Michael Glodowski and three from both Jackson Lutz and Cash Cullen. Logan Hintz, Sully Perkins, Jacob Ruggles and Gage Glodowski each had two hits.
Levi Cullen, Michael Glodowski and Gage Glodowski each drove in three runs.
Perkins got the win for Amherst.
SOFTBALL
Hortonville 10, Fond du Lac 1
FOND DU LAC – Grace Danoski was 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI as the Polar Bears struck early and cruised to the Fox Valley Association win.
Eileen Gassner was 3-for-5, while Samantha D’Addario was 2-for-3 with a triple and Kyah Gass was 2-for-4.
Hortonville led 2-1 after one inning before upping that margin to 7-1 after two. The Polar Bears closed out the scoring with two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh.
Danoski earned the win in the circle, pitching seven innings and allowing two hits and one unearned run while striking out five.
Kaukauna 20, Appleton West 1
APPLETON – The Ghosts led 2-1 after one inning before scoring 18 times in the third to put the game out of reach to earn the Fox Valley Association win.
Lillian Hanke led the Terrors with two hits – both doubles – while Kaydence Gilbert added an RBI.
Seymour 6, Xavier 0
SEYMOUR – Adde Smith was 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBIs as the Thunder blanked the Hawks in a Bay Conference matchup.
Monique Martinez was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, while Lyla Schueler doubled twice and Alexis Corn was 2-for-3 with a double.
Kendra Rettler earned the win in the circle, pitching seven innings and allowing six hits while striking out 10.
Abby Ourada and Elsa Dvoracek had two hits each to lead Xavier.
Menasha 10, New London 2
NEW LONDON – The Bluejays scored three runs in the first, third and fourth innings and one in the fifth as they outlasted the Bulldogs in Bay Conference play.
Menasha outhit New London 10-8.
The Bulldogs scored one run in the first and one in the fourth.
Leading the Bluejays’ offense were Haylee Stobb and Meghan Reh with three hits each, and Bella Sonnenberg with two. Among Stobb’s hits was a home run as she also drove in four runs.
Bristol Elsholtz, Ellie Winkelman and Laine Fiane had two hits each for New London. One of Winkelman’s hits was a double.
St. Mary Catholic 2, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah 1
ELKHART LAKE – The Zephyrs plated two runs in the top of the first inning and made them stand up en route to the Big East Conference victory.
Paxtyn Trinkner pitched 5⅔ innings for the win. She allowed four hits, one run, walked five and struck out four. Gabby Guerrero pitched 1⅓ innings for the save. She didn’t allow a hit, walked one and struck out one.
Emmi Weiss had a hit, an RBI and scored a run for SMC. Scarlett Reichenbacher also had a hit and an RBI. Weiss and Reichenbacher both had RBI singles in the first inning.
Alyssa Lukich had two hits for Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, which scored in the third inning on an RBI triple by Delaney Maranell to score Lukich.
Chilton 3, Valders 2
VALDERS – The Tigers scored two runs in the sixth inning to pull out the Eastern Wisconsin Conference win.
Chilton took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth, but the Vikings responded with two in the bottom of the frame.
Mya McGinnis was 2-for-3, while Olivia Hoefner drove in two runs to help power the Tigers.
Lauren Roehrig earned the win in the circle, pitching seven innings and allowing eight hits, two earned runs and two walks while striking out nine.
New Holstein 7, Brillion 5
NEW HOLSTEIN – The Huskies broke open a tie game with one run in the fifth inning and one in the sixth en route to the Eastern Wisconsin Conference win.
New Holstein led 1-0 after one, 3-2 after three and 5-3 after four. The Lions tied the game at 5-5 with two runs in the top of the fifth, setting up the Huskies’ late heroics.
New Holstein outhit Brillion 15-8.
Carter Miller led the Lions with three hits, including a home run and two RBIs. Kara Hedrich was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Amherst 5, Manawa 2
MANAWA – The Falcons scored four runs in the fourth inning and one in the fifth en route to the Central Wisconsin Conference win.
The Wolves scored both of their runs in the sixth.
Izzy Losinski helped pace the Amherst attack with a double and two RBIs, while Ava Dambroski added one double.
Sam Nooyen earned the win, pitching seven innings and allowing four hits, two earned runs and one walk while striking out 13.
Callie Pethke and Alexis Ferg both had an RBI for Manawa.
Olivia Zielke took the loss despite a solid effort. She pitched seven innings, allowing four hits, five unearned runs and one walk while striking out 10.
GIRLS SOCCER
Kimberly 4, Oshkosh West 0
KIMBERLY – The Papermakers got two goals from both Kennedy Ebben and Emily Urban in the win over the Wildcats.
Katie Owens had two assists for Kimberly, while Skyler Brey had one assist.
Bee Brockert had five saves in goal for Kimberly, which improves to 13-1 overall and 6-0 in the Fox Valley Association.
Menasha 8, New London 2
NEW LONDON – Emma Hanagen scored three goals and Mariana Miller had two in leading the Bluejays to the win over the Bulldogs.
Keira Randall, Sophia Sierra and Kasadee Vaubel also scored goals for Menasha.
Sierra had two assists for Menasha. Randall had one assist.
Madison Mulder had four saves in goal for Menasha, which took a 3-1 lead in the first half.
