Seahawks sign WR from Panthers’ 2026 rookie minicamp

A participant from the Carolina Panthers‘ 2026 rookie minicamp has landed a deal elsewhere.

As announced on Thursday, the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks have signed wideout Rashad Rochelle. The 23-year-old receiver attended Carolina’s rookie minicamp last weekend as one of 11 tryout players.

Rochelle, a Springfield, Ill. native, split his four-year collegiate career between Rutgers University (2022 to 2023) and Indiana State University (2024 to 2025). He served primarily as a rusher and return specialist for the Scarlet Knights—recording 27 carries and nine total returns to just one reception—before transferring to play for the Sycamores.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder, over his two seasons at Indiana State, went on to amass 97 catches for 1,270 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also returned 43 kicks at an average of 25.0 yards per attempt and 21 punts at an average of 10.5 yards.
