FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas softball believes a grueling schedule has the program more prepared than ever for a breakthrough trip to the Women’s College World Series.
The final exams of the season begins tonight (Friday, May 15) inside Bogle Park.
The Razorbacks (42-11) open their NCAA Tournament journey by facing Fordham (27-26) in the first game of the Fayetteville Regional. One team will advance to the winners bracket and face either Washington or South Florida on Saturday.
Arkansas enters the postseason as the No. 5 national seed. This is the sixth consecutive season the Hogs have hosted a regional, and all seven of the program’s national seeds have been accumulated under head coach Courtney Deifel.
The Razorbacks own a 4-0 all-time record against Fordham. They took the last matchup between the teams in 2018, and defeated the Rams twice in the 2013 Norman Regional by the scores of 5-1 and 5-2.
