Former Steelers HC Mike Tomlin will return to Pittsburgh in 2026

You can take Mike Tomlin out of the Steel City, but you can’t take the Steel City off his schedule, as he’ll return to Pittsburgh during the 2026 season when the Steelers host the Houston Texans in Week 13 for Sunday Night Football.

Tomlin, no longer head coach of the Steelers, will travel during the 2026 season as an NBC analyst as part of Football Night in America — and he’ll be there when the Steelers host the Texans in Week 13 on SNF.

There’s arguably no game on Tomlin’s 2026 analyst schedule more poetic than the Steelers-Texans Week 13 rematch, especially considering the 2025 wild-card game that all but sent the former head coach packing.

Tomlin will also be there for the Steelers’ road trip in Week 10 against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football, but it won’t be nearly the same warm welcome he’d likely receive in the Steel City of Pittsburgh.
