Alessandro Bastoni’s future is back in the spotlight amid speculation that he could now be set to stay at Inter rather than move to Barcelona.

A new update from La Gazzetta dello Sport says that “something has changed” with the defender over the last few weeks and his desire to leave the club “has diminished.”

Bastoni’s had a tough time in Italy this season but has received plenty of affection since Inter’s title win and thinks the recent hostility could be set to end.

Interestingly, reporter Matteo Moretto also has an update and reports “the main ‘obstacle’ to Alessandro Bastoni’s signing by Barcelona is Hansi Flick’s stance.”

The Barcelona boss is said to have “expressed growing doubts about some of the Inter defender’s technical characteristics in relation to the team’s current and future playing style.”

Flick has also asked Deco to look for alternatives to Bastoni as we head towards the summer transfer window.

Diario Sport are also reporting on Bastoni and claim the defender wants his future resolved quickly this summer but that seems unlikely as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski is currently Barca’s top priority.

The general consensus is that as things stand, Bastoni currently looks more like staying at Inter and potentially extending his contract than signing for Barca.
