Cube OF Pete Crow-Armstrong hasn’t gotten his bat to come around this season, but his glove continues to make him a valuable player on the north side of Chicago.
On the south side, Crow-Armstrong appears to be far less popular.
“PCA” got into a tense exchange with a White Sox fan after an unsuccessful attempt at a catch in Sunday’s loss to the Cubs’ crosstown rivals, and he explained his side of the story after the game.

Crow-Armstrong missed a catch attempt at the wall on Sunday and immediately heard it from one White Sox fan behind the wall’s fencing. A woman appeared to shout at the Cubs outfielder, who turned around and shouted back.
A camera angle from behind the rival revealed Crow-Armstrong’s vulgar message for the fan. “Suck my f—in d— b—,” Crow-Armstrong shouted as the woman continued to yell in his direction.

After the game, Crow-Armstrong addressed the interaction in plain terms. “Some lady decided to start talking s— and I felt the need to say it back,” the Cubs star said, summing up exactly what the video confirms.
The moment encapsulated a rough weekend for the Cubs, who dropped their series against the surging White Sox by giving up 17 runs between Saturday and Sunday. While the Cubs still have the advantage in the standings, the series allowed the White Sox to push two games above .500 two years after a historically bad season.
For Crow-Armstrong, a return to the north side on Monday will be a welcomed development.
